Nasty business : one biker gang's bloody war against the Hells Angels

Paradis, Peter (Author).

Summary: In the 1990s the city of Montreal became a war zone. Car bombs littered the streets with debris, and drive by shootings left blood on the sidewalks. As the toll of victims rose including innocent children public pressure mounted to put an end to the violence. But the Hells angels would go to any lengths to expand their control over the trade in drugs and prostitution. Peter Paradis was in that war. A chief warrior of the rock Machine, he offers readers a graphic fristhand account of how two powerful and dangerous biker gangs fought each other, often in plain and public view, on Montreal's streets. Peter himself was gunned down at an intersection at midday, shot four times by a hitman who acted for the Hells Angels. As the Rock Machine retaliated by sending out assassination treams, the police cracked down on drug dealers and new laws were introducted to give them greater powers of arrents and put an end to the violence that had claimed 170 lives. Perer survived the attempt on his life, but he realized that his future was at a dead end. If he was going to have any kind of life with his wide and son, he had to get out of the Roch Machine. Arrested on drug charges, he agreed to testifty for the Crown against the bikers. He has served his time and is now somewhere in Canda with a new idenity, living under the Witness Protection Program.
